The St. Martin’s Ampleforth First Seven were once again victorious this season winning their second tournament at Mowden Hall near Newcastle, on Saturday 15th March. The boys held their nerve all the way through the group stages winning all their matches along with the quarter and semi finals in comfortable fashion. This winning streak continued into the final where they played local rivals Terrington Hall winning by 20 points in an impressive display of open and attractive rugby.
The St. Martin’s Ampleforth boys have reached the final of three tournaments in local competitions winning two and losing narrowly at the Durham School Sevens in extra time. The team now heads south to play in the IAPS Sevens at Oundle School followed by the National School Boy Sevens at Rosslyn Park, where expectations are high following their impressive performances to date in the north of England.
