Bootham School students in Years 7 and 8 are staging a version of The Odyssey by Hattie Naylor. It traces Odysseus’s return journey from Troy emphasising his desire for ‘home’ and all that that word means – his sense of belonging, his loves and the comfort of being in a familiar place. Despite his best efforts to control his men and his journey, the Fates who knit the stories of life – and the Gods have their own plans, and he spends ten years getting home.
The play is directed by Bootham drama teacher, Joan Attwell, who said:
