St Olave’s School cricket team is embarking on a tour to South Africa as part of their Easter schedule.
The visit will see the 1st XI play four matches in Cape Town, three against school teams in the area, and one against a community side. This will be the fourth time that St Olave’s and St Peter’s have toured the city.
The week in South Africa will include a visit to Langa, a suburb designated for Black Africans before the apartheid era. Leading up to the trip, the boys have been collecting trainers and football shirts in order to provide the disadvantaged community with sports kits.
Head of Sport Mr Nathan Savage said:
The response has been fantastic and three huge kit bags have been filled. The boys are now looking forward to be able to share this on their tour.
