The first was at Barnard Castle’s U12 netball tournament, an event in which Terrington has been runners-up on three occasions, but never the winners, the second at Pocklington’s U12 tournament. In the group stage of this year’s Barnard Castle U12 netball tournament, Terrington beat Barnard Castle 4-1, Royal Grammar School Newcastle 4-1, Red House 9-2 and Yarm 5-2. They secured a 9-1 victory against Queen Mary’s in the semi-final and retained their winning form in the final against hosts Barnard Castle 4-2.
Natalie Glen, head of Terrington’s girls games, said:
It was a great team performance but one player stood out all afternoon with her athleticism and determination as well as skill, and that was the Player of the Tournament Amelia Blackburn. My thanks to Tricia Martin for umpiring the games as well as the coaching. We were both very pleased to at last get the name of Terrington on the trophy that has eluded us so many times in the past.
At Pocklington’s U12 netball tournament, their first game was against four-times tournament winner Hymers whom they beat 9-0, followed by St Olave’s B 14-0, Hull Collegiate 13-1, Pocklington 6-4 and St Olave’s 4-1.
Mrs Glen said:
It was a tremendous way to round off an unbeaten season.
