Queen Mary’s School is absolutely delighted once again with the superb performance of their girls at GCSE this year. Against a backdrop of a much welcome increase in academic rigour, they have again ‘stepped up to the mark’ and produced the best set of results as a year group for a number of years, with over 95% gaining 5 or more A* – C passes. Alongside their musical and sporting achievements, the girls at Queen Mary’s study for an average of 10 GCSEs, this requires an enormous amount of dedication and application.
3 girls scooped an impressive 32A* and 1A grade at GCSE this year. Sophie Earnshaw gained 11A* grades and has secured an academic scholarship at UppinghamSchool, Josie Taylor achieved 10A*s and 1A grade and will be moving to PocklingtonSchool. Mary Kumarendran not only gained 11A* grades to secure her place at RiponGrammar School, but also took an additional Further Maths paper, achieving an A* with distinction with 174 marks out of a possible 175.
