Over 200 pupils from St Peter’s School and St Olave’s School, along with dozens of staff, parents, Old Peterites and members of the wider school community performed in the School’s annual Choral and Orchestral concert at the University of York’s Central Hall.
400 guests attended the concert which is the School’s largest of the year. An array of classical pieces made up the evening’s itinerary and the St Peter’s full School Choir, St Olave’s Choir, St Peter’s Choral Society, the Wind Band, and the String Orchestra all performed.
Highlights from the evening included recitals of Mozart’s Missa Brevis in F and Vivaldi’s Gloria. This was followed by the String Orchestra playing Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto with soloist Libby Brown, and the Wind Band’s performance of Vaughan Williams’ Folk Song Suite.
Director of Music at St Peter’s School, Paul Miles-Kingston said:
The concert was very successful and it is always a pleasure to see pupils, parents and staff from the whole school community coming together for this annual event to perform and experience great music. Everyone involved made a fantastic effort.
