The pupils in the St. Martin’s Ampleforth School Garden Club have raised just over £66 for Mary’s Meals selling potatoes, onions, beans, onions and apples that have been grown in the school gardens. The pupils in Garden Club had planted the vegetables earlier in the year and had such a bumper harvest that they decided to sell the produce in aid of Mary’s Meals.
Mrs Green, Head of Science said:
As well as growing vegetables, the children were able to pick apples from our apple trees to sell as well
Mary’s Meals vision is that every child receives one daily meal in their place of education and that all those who have more than they need, share with those who lack even the most basic things.
