There was romance, intrigue, action, plenty of laughs, some killer tunes and, of course, lots of splurging in Terrington Hall’s end-of-term production of Bugsy Malone.
Led by Year Eight pupils Lysander Jones (Bugsy Malone), Benjie Wilson (Fat Sam), Tom Matthews (Dandy Dan) Georgina Prest (Tallulah) and Coco Charters (Blousey Brown), the 70-strong cast of Year 5 to Year Eight pupils staged two performances of the musical theatre classic.
Terrington Hall headmaster Stephen Mulryne said:
The children have impressed all with their exuberance, polish and the sheer joy of their performance in this first-rate production.
The lead characters were superb and supported by several beautifully executed cameo appearances from younger members of the cast, including Barman Joe’s [Frank Collins’s] dousing at the hands of an exasperated Fat Sam, Freddie Cade and Henry Hobson’s ventriloquist dummy act, and Anna Barker as the brash, off-key wannabe Lena Marrelli. Truly, a night to remember.
