Bootham School Student wins the chance of an audition for a Decca Recording Opportunity
Bootham Sixth Former, Andrew Woodmansey, has sung his way through to the chance of auditioning for an International record company recording. A member of the National Youth Choir of Great Britain, Andrew has been put forward by the NYCGB for an audition as one of a small group of 8-12 male voices for a recording project with Decca/Universal Records.
Director of Music at Bootham, Paul Feehan, said:
What a brilliant opportunity for Andrew – he’s a gifted musician and a popular soloist at our regular Thursday lunchtime public recitals. He wants to study music after leaving school and this is an excellent opportunity for him.
Bootham School, widely recognised for its music, will be hosting the first York Chamber Music Festival in its newly opened Arts Centre. For more information see www.yorkchambermusicfestival.co.uk The festival opens on Thursday, 13th February, with a piano concert.
